Strand Gimp is a classic upholstery trimming used to neatly finish and conceal raw edges, tack lines, and seams on furniture, headboards, and soft furnishings. With its distinctive twisted or woven strand construction, it adds a refined decorative touch while serving a practical purpose — making it a favourite among both professional upholsterers and keen DIY enthusiasts.
This versatile gimp works beautifully on traditional and contemporary pieces alike, and can be applied using gimp pins or adhesive for a clean, polished result. Whether you’re restoring a period armchair or adding the finishing touches to a bespoke headboard, Strand Gimp delivers a smart, professional-looking edge every time.
Each order is supplied as a 25m roll, giving you plenty of length to complete larger projects or keep a handy stock on hand. Browse our full range of trimmings at Glover Bros to find coordinating braids, cords, and fringes to complement your design.
