Quill Gimp

Sold As: Per meter (min 3m)

Quill Gimp is a classic decorative trimming with a distinctive looped or feathered edge that adds an elegant finishing touch to upholstered furniture, curtains, cushions, and soft furnishings. Its flexible construction makes it ideal for applying along straight edges, curves, and seams, allowing you to achieve a neat, professional-looking finish with ease. Whether you’re a seasoned upholsterer or a keen home crafter, Quill Gimp is a versatile choice that works beautifully across a wide range of projects.

Typically used to conceal tacks, staples, and raw fabric edges, gimp braid has long been a staple in traditional and contemporary upholstery alike. Quill Gimp is no exception — it can be glued or hand-stitched into place, making application straightforward for both trade professionals and DIY enthusiasts. It’s the perfect way to add a polished, decorative border to chair frames, headboards, pelmets, and more.

Quill Gimp is sold by the metre with a minimum order of 3 metres, so you can buy exactly what you need for your project without waste. Simply enter the number of metres you require and we’ll cut it fresh from the roll. If you’re working on a larger upholstery job or run a trade workroom, buying in greater lengths is always a good idea to ensure a consistent dye lot throughout your project.
